Australian Computer Society Professional Year Program (IT) – ACS PYPIT
- is for international students who are recent graduates of an IT Bachelor or Masters degree
- is developed by the Australian Computer Society
- approved by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) approved
- provides a pathway from university to professional employment in Australia, by developing the professional and practical skills required to work in the IT industry
- provides, on graduation, 5 immigration points towards submitting your Expression of Interest in seeking permanent residence in Australia
To enroll in the ACS PYPIT you must have:
- a bachelor or master degree in IT, completed over a two year study program in Australia, with a certified copy of your completion letter from your University verifying two years completion of your degree and a certified copy of your university transcript of courses
- a minimum English standard of IELTS 6.0 or its equivalent, with evidence of English language proficiency test results
- a copy of your professional skills assessment from ACS
- your 485 Skilled Graduate (temporary) visa or Bridging Visa A, with a minimum of 12 months status
- your current passport
- a current Resume or CV
The ACS PYPIT has six modules delivered over a total of 44 to 48 weeks:
- Australian Workplace Culture and Practice taught from week 1 to 13, it provides:
- Job Search Portfolio and Training, also taught from week 1 to 13
- Business Communications Skills taught from week 15 to 27.
- A Small Group Simulated Business Project also taught from week 15 to 27.
- A 220 hour Professional Internship.
- An on-line Professional Environment program undertaken while students are on their Internship, and developed and managed by the Australian Computer Society (ACS).
